Video for social media

Video production is not my real area of expertise, so I selected few good friends from my social network for this project. The idea was to make fun social media advertisement from Painajainen, a video that would make the company’s name a little more famous.

The script grew very soon ready in my head. I took rather cheap actress for the leading lady’s role, myself. The leading man’s role was also quite easy to choose, there’s a farmer living at next door, whom I thought would fit perfectly to this role. I found the most wonderful people from my inner circle to be a cameraman, an editor and a voice prompt. Here is little report of the realisation.

Video was filmed with a few shots from couple of different directions per scene. This way, the editor had few different angles to choose from. Overall, filming took about half an hour.  Filming location was at our own yard, so no harm done to harvest filming after harvest season. At the editing stage, introductions did change a little bit. The cameraman  was also a director, he chose the final music and voice prompt. All this happened less than 24 hours of filming session. Huge thanks to everyone.

Next to our production, which costs were very modest. But visibility at social media we got more than that, at Facebook over 15000 views. At YouTube numbers are still quite modest so I will link video from there.

In general video got a good reception, it was taken with humour as it was meant to be. Although we also received criticism and we may have learned from it, in our next social media video. What do you think about it?
